How to do the Incline Push Up Rotation
Primary: Chest · also works Shoulders, Triceps, Core, Obliques, Upper Back.
The Incline Push Up Rotation is a dynamic and challenging upper-body exercise that targets multiple muscles, including the chest, shoulders, triceps, and core. This variation of the traditional push-up incorporates a rotational movement, activating additional stabilizing muscles for improved functional strength and coordination. By performing the exercise on an incline, gravity reduces the load, making it suitable for intermediate fitness levels while still providing ample challenge.
Step by step
- 1
Start in an incline push-up position with your hands shoulder-width apart on an elevated surface, such as an incline bench.
- 2
Lower your chest towards the bench by bending your elbows, keeping your body straight.
- 3
As you push back up, lift one hand off the bench and rotate your torso to extend the hand upwards towards the ceiling, following with your eyes. Return to the starting position and repeat on the other side.
Coaching cues

- Perform the exercise in a slow and controlled manner to maximize muscle activation and reduce the risk of injury.
- Ensure your hands are placed correctly on the incline surface to maintain a proper push-up form and prevent strain on your wrists.
